U.S. Route 66, known as “Mother Road”, construction was started in 1926. Historic route 66 starts from downtown Chicago and goes across the country and ends in Santa Monica, California.
In past, construction of U.S. Route 66 was very important for business and to boost economy of midwest region.
At one time, route was also known as Chicago-St. Louis road as well.
Excellent pic… I would say it is very easy to miss it on the street. I live in Chicago and visit downtown all the time but never noticed it….
